Predictive modeling is a statistical model of future behavior
This model is made up of a number of predictors - factors that are likely to influence future behavior or results. In higher education, for example, a student's demographics, geographic location, test scores and/or high school GPA predict the likelihood of enrolling at a school.

Predictive models can help ensure the greatest ROI with the best information possible
Communication with students is sensitive to their "likelihood of enrollment" and hence more effective. Ability to focus time and energy on the right prospects increases enrollment yield.

How can Hobsons EMT help?
The key characteristics of enrolled students at a school can determine the likelihood of prospects and inquiries to enroll. Hobsons uses these characteristics to build a statistical model that is unique to the school.

This process involves:

• Data Gathering: We work with the institution to collect historical data of students enrolled at the school in the last couple of years.
• Model Creation: Our statisticians use advanced data analysis software to construct a predictive model of the data gathered.
• Model Testing: The model is validated against some sample data to measure its efficacy.
• Model Deployment: The final model is then incorporated within the institution's EMT Connect instance. On a nightly basis, it then starts scoring the existing and incoming prospects.
