On-site Assessments

Hobsons' On-site Retention Assessment is delivered by our exclusive retention and recruitment consulting partner, Teresa Farnum and Associates (TFA). The Retention Assessment begins with conversations with you and a review of materials that you share with your consultant. In this way, your consultant can "hit the ground running" in the 1½ days on campus meetings with administrators, faculty, staff, and students. TFA will provide you with an external look at your institution's strengths, challenges, and retention opportunities. During an exit briefing, TFA will recommend action items that shape "best practices" to your institution's unique circumstances.

After the Assessment, you may wish to continue the relationship with TFA in a retention partnership. Your consultant will continue to have an active role as a change agent and assist you in ensuring progress and institutional commitment to your student retention initiative. The partnership includes continued on-site visits and unlimited communication between consultations. This level of commitment to change leadership, the customized approach to the needs of your institution, and reasonable fees are hallmarks of TFA services that differentiate this company from competitors.

Personality Testing

To bring unsurpassed retention solutions to our clients, Hobsons helps institutions accurately identify personality characteristics that foster student success, as well as potential issues that can put them at-risk for attrition.

After students have completed the personality testing, the responses are funneled into the technology portion of the Hobsons Student Retention Solution, where this information, additional research, and data can further help detect their at-risk level.

Predictive Modeling

Hobsons' predictive modeling uses historical student information to create a statistical model to predict future behavior. A predictive model is made up of a number of indicators, including a student's demographics, geographic location, test scores, high school GPA, family income and other relevant factors specific to your institution.

Predictive models are unique to every institution and combining the models with research can forecast success in enrollment and retention. With Hobsons Student Retention Solutions, your campus cohorts will benefit as your institution recognizes students as at-risk sooner and helps them find the right path.
